A Chic and Fun Global Can Gall Ibiza Wedding

When I first started working as a photographer on Ibiza, back in 2001, I had quite a diverse portfolio of jobs. I photographed food, restaurants, events, hotels, families, portraits and then weddings too. I was open to all, it was about earning a living with what I knew I could do.
In 2003 I arrived at Can Gall to photograph the newly reformed hotel for a magazine I was shooting for at the time.
I remember Santi proudly giving me the grandest guided tour of every beautiful corner and detail, they had done to make it this amazing new kid on the block of Agroturismo Hotels on Ibiza. It was his family home. Every detail was immaculate and pretty much perfect and pristine. The iron work and wood work locally sourced and hand made on the island. The famous front tree planted by a great great (and even another great) grandparent is 300 years old. (if I remember right)
I then began to photograph weddings there, how many years later I am not sure. We were like a team. Vickki and Alex from the then Eat Ibiza, now Elixir, had it as one of their main wedding venues. I have photographed many many stunning wedding at the venue.
All these years later it is still as pristine and perfect. The gardens are soo lush, I WISH I could have that much green surrounding me every day. The walk from the house to the garden and pool, through the trees and plants is one of my favourite places to photograph the couple on a wedding day. I think you will find it in every one of my Can Gall Wedding galleries.
Below is Lilly and Alexander’s wedding. Simple but chic. An eclectic set of friends from all over the globe. What a good looking, well dressed and fun bunch.
We started one of our conversation, as I do with many couples now, with a chat about the colour grading she was interested in. It’s what she had seen, everywhere and loved. The browner tones you see on IG. I always ask, why do you want it this especially at a venue like Can Gall. If you are getting married in a hotel like Can Gall on an island like Ibiza, surrounded by those lush greens from the garden. The Blues skies, the red earth and rolling hills, why would you turn it all yellow and brown and desaturated? Good question. We didn’t. They loved their photographs.
Added to their wedding day was their pre wedding eve at sunset with a Graze picnic at Time and Space on the south of the island. Golden sunsets in the back ground. And a pool party the next day at Can Gall itself. If you have seen their pool you would do the same?
