A wedding isn’t all about the Bride and Groom
Why your family and friends matter at your wedding.
Many couples choose to have their weddings in Ibiza because of its stunning natural beauty,
unique venues, and vibrant atmosphere. You may choose one of our glorious beach side venues, high up in the hills with views across our Ibiza fields or of course infront of our famous Es Vedra. Did you know that you can even get married on the private island, of Tagomago? There are hundreds of weddings every summer here, with people coming from all over the globe. Ibiza as a wedding destination does not stop growing. And Because we label everything now, we can say Ibiza is a destination weddings island with destination wedding photographers.
Today I am writing about the friends and family at all these many Ibiza weddings.
Destination means the couple bring everyone over with them. Sometimes just a few, sometimes all but always the special friends and family. Often the idea is to try to reduce the number of people at the wedding (I do hear that the wedding list can be a conundrum) What normally
happens? Everyone says yes because It-is-IBIZA.
They come to have an Ibiza holiday, a little Ibiza party too. Most importantly they actually also bring all the emotional support, love and family, warmth and help. They share the experiences, definitely enhancing the celebration. They bring and add to the atmosphere and vibe, joy and tears. (And it goes without saying sometimes a quantity of the stress too.)
I have seen high intense Families moments!! (Don’t ask?) I have seen an abundance of excitement from the best bundle of bridesmaids (screams, giggles and singing galore). I have seen the best support the big group guys can give. I have seen the warmest hugs and longest tears of pure joy, from a father, a best friend, a groom for his grandmother, a daughter for her mum and dad, a best friend for her bride.
I have sobbed myself behind my camera.
Whether you have two of your best friends, just a handful of your close family or two hundred of everyone from across the globe, I like to think a wedding is not just about the bride and groom. When you are real, your Family and Friends are essential.
With weddings now being multi-day celebration, creating a grand shared unforgettable experience you are collectively creating memories forever.
You can come and prove me wrong, I really want to photograph more elopements, with just the two of you. Just you and your girl, you and your guy? I imagine the vibe is high and strong and beautiful.
Meanwhile as your wedding photographer I never want to miss the guest photos. They are true moments with meaning, that you don’t get to see until I share your photos with you. It is when the photographer becomes very important.
